Overview Shiney's Sweets & Restaurant

Discover Shiney's Sweets & Restaurant, a longtime Pakistani dining spot at 4231-D Markham St, Annandale, VA 22003, United States. Known for halal Pakistani and Indian comfort food, traditional sweets, and a casual family-oriented setting, Shiney's Sweets & Restaurant in Annandale is the kind of place that prioritizes flavor and familiarity over polished presentation. For diners interested in authentic local dining experiences, its combination of savory street-food snacks, curries, kebabs, biryani, and house-made mithai gives the restaurant a broad appeal.

One of the strongest reasons to visit is the Famous Chat Papri. This classic Pakistani snack layers crisp papri with chickpeas, yogurt, chutneys, and spices, creating a lively mix of creamy, crunchy, sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. Samosa Chaat offers a similarly satisfying experience, combining flaky samosas with chickpeas and sauces for a richer, more filling plate. Customer feedback consistently points to these chaat dishes as longtime favorites, particularly among regulars who have been visiting for years.

For a heartier main course, Chicken Tikka is a dependable choice. The boneless chicken is marinated with seasoning before being cooked in the tandoor and served with naan, rice, salad, raita, and chickpeas. Beef Seekh Kabob and Goat Biryani are also prominent menu choices, while dishes such as Nihari, Chicken Karahi, Butter Chicken, Chana Masala, and Saag Paneer add further variety. Current menu pricing generally places many individual meals in the $10–$20 range, while larger specialties such as karahi cost more.

The sweets counter is just as important as the savory menu. Gulab Jamun, Ras Malai, Jalebi, Gajar Halwa, and assorted mithai provide traditional endings to the meal. One recent customer praised the restaurant as a “great bakery with fresh, delicious, and authentic items,” while another specifically highlighted the samosas with chai and the wide selection of Pakistani sweets.

The atmosphere is simple, compact, and relaxed. Seating is limited compared with larger restaurants, but that reinforces the neighborhood feel. This is not a restaurant built around elaborate décor; instead, the display of sweets, aromas of spices, and steady flow of takeaway customers give it its character. Amenities include dine-in service, takeout, delivery, outdoor seating, parking, wheelchair accessibility, and credit-card payment. Vegan and vegetarian choices are also available.

Among the best restaurants in Annandale for traditional Pakistani food, Shiney's Sweets & Restaurant stands out for its longevity, variety, and strong connection to familiar South Asian flavors. Whether you come for chaat, kebabs, biryani, or a box of mithai to take home, Shiney's Sweets & Restaurant offers a warm and approachable taste of Pakistani cooking. Visit with family or friends and leave room for something sweet.

While exploring Springfield and the surrounding neighborhoods, I came across a Pakistani spot that feels like a genuine slice of home. From the traditional desi food including chane, paaye, chicken qourma, to the sweets, everything looked incredible, but the Chane and Naan stole the show-absolutely authentic! It was great to see such a diverse crowd enjoying the food, too. For a moment, I honestly forgot I wasn't in Pakistan. To all my desi friends: if you happen to be in town, this is a must-visit!

This place has been around for ages and we’ve been going here since we were kids. The food is authentic (especially the chaat papri and mithai) and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Yes, it might need a bit of an update but keep in mind it’s been around forever. Great place!

I stopped by for grabbing a quick snack-vegetable pakora and vegetable samosa. Both tasted delicious. Prices were cheap and the portions were large. They had a variety of sweets available too. I wish the store could improve on its interiors and cleanliness. I want to revisit but their level of hygiene puts doubts in my mind. :(
